Well , I adopted Benito my male pearl a few months ago.
I have bonded well with him, and my girl Angel takes good intrest in him. Wherever he goes, she follows.
Since he was handfed its positivly rubbing off on Angel. Since he was added to the family she trusts people more, and is no longer afriad of us.
But he is a people pleaser, and is not as intrested in Angel as she would like him to be. I see her dropping her head asking for him to preen her , but he ignores. And if she trys to preen him , he snaps and moves away.
Anywho Last night a women had messaged me asking for help, she purchased an neglected and abused bird from a petshop. And later realised she bite off more then she could chew. Its her first bird and she knows nothing what to do with him.
She is begging for me to take him in , and will give me the bird , the cage and everything in between free of charge.
What worrys me is that he will not get along with my Benito , I dont want anyone getting hurt.
The male is 1 year old , and was bonded to a female companion in the shop but later she was sold. Left alone he had grown some aggression and was seperated from other birds for four months . They stored him inside a dark storage room before being purchased 'on sale'.
I dont know what to do , should I take him in ? Will three cockatiels get along as well as I hope?
I attatched the photo she sent me, he looks healthy from the looks of it. But I will have to see him myself .
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
