I usually leave Snowy's wooden perches out in the sun to dry, but here in Ireland when we do get some sun, it's not very sunny! :( so I'm going to try put them in the oven instead.

I've never done it before, so I was wondering, what tempature do you use and how long do you leave them in for? Is it ok to place them on aluminium foil in the oven?

I don't know about the aluminum foil but I usually bake mine at 400 degrees for half an hour.

400F might be overkill--212F (100C) should kill just about everything. 100C is water's boiling point, and hitting that point will kill most organisms since it forces a liquid -> gas state change, which the organisms we're most worried about cannot survive. I personally put mine in just for a hour, but that's probably overkill. You want to bake the wood long enough for the internal temperature of the wood to reach 212F/100C and hold it for several minutes.

I believe that's an accurate recounting of the science, but keep in mind I failed out of chemistry so it's possible I'm misquoting. But 212F/100C should be sufficient heat.
