I'm not sure what feather you're indicating? Maybe circle it in paint and repost the picture.

This top middle tail feather is half pied. Can you see it this way?

 

It looks like a normal feather to me.

 

Balf the feather is yellow,blending in with the othdr pied feathers.you can only see the grey half i guess...

 

I see a feather that is grey on one side of the vein and yellow on the other. It took a minute because it looks like it has broken off on the end. I also see where it gets closer to the body it appears to mottle back into a yellow feather. Is that what we are supposed to be seeing? If so, that's a new one on me. It is partly yellow and partly grey. LOL

 

Yep that is th feather.right in the middle,she has never molted it out.
Still unsure about that thing..

 

It is defenitly unique.

 

The only thing that comes to mind is maybe only half of the feather follicle is in the pied section, much like a border collie with a partial blue eye?

 

i don't think so, the whole vein is black. Then all of a sudden the feather is yellow on one side... I love it, even though it is broken off, if she ever molts this feather i will keep it

 

oh wow! that's nuts. it's like an optical illusion feather. i didn't even see it until i read what dreamcatcher was looking at.

Do you see what i mean? This confuses me! is it even possible? the whole vein is grey and 3/4ths of the feather is yellow!

 

It could very well be another pearl tail feather that has only kind of changed.

 

Thats what i was thinking. But i guess it could make sense since pied kind of evolves other mutations (for lack of better term)
