thanks i do have two cages to put them if i get a budgie before then its going through the persuading my parents stage.
It's best to give them their own cages if possible. Little Bill and Earl are an exception rather than the normal. :) Budgies tend to pester cockatiels, pulling their crests and tails. It's nice for the tiels to have their own space for a bit of peace.

I agree they should be house seperatly if possible but you do find the exception. Hugs and sonic would be one. Hugs love sonic and sonic loves hugs. Every now and then i will take the divider out and let them have the full cage for a day and night. Its nice to let then have full access to the full cage because of all the space.

Lol. I just saw this and was like WOW!
I'm at the persuading my parents stage too, but sometimes they just don't get it. They told me I could only get a tiel if I got rid of my little Tiki bird and Iveria here, and then I was like are you CRAZY?! I could never get rid of my little budgies ...(even if they do still hate me). So then they sort of agreed and said if I had the money to get a cage and the first round of litter and food I could get him! I am currently saving up and I'm at 140.00 right now and just need 30 more dollars!! I'm getting the tiel from a friend of my teachers who can't keep him anymore.. :(! But i'm excited because he's only like 5 months old and he's trying to learn words and talk!! OH MY GOODNESS I CAN'T WAIT!!!

BTW sorry if this was really long:p

That's good to hear...only $30 more. What litter are you refering to?

The litter stuff for the bottom of the cages is mostly another scam for pet shops to make money. :p Same goes for sandpaper sheets, sandpaper perch covers and vitamins for their water.

My Eric is against getting new pets too, but it helps that I pay for them, (almost always) and that none of the animals I have right now I actually purchased, except my hamster. I adopted one tiel for $20 (and donated my budgie stuff to them) and the other 3 were completely free. :D
