I built this cage. It's 5' wide by 3' high by 2' deep. It's made of 1/2" x 1/2" aviary cloth and aluminum angle moulding with full-length sliding plexiglas doors so the birds don't have to stare at bars everywhere they look. It currently houses my 3 month old sparrows who are to the right - one on the preening ring and the other is to the right of it.

Just one question... That's a very nice big cage, but where do you hang the perches? Seems to be lacking a place for the birds to stand. I guess thats the problem with square nets instead of paralel/vertical bars :S

Wow! Everyone's cages are awesome! This is a picture of my tiel's cage. Currently houses Puppy, Sampson and their 4 babies <3 Puppy is currently taking her break from parenting and grooming herself on the playtop :)

The wooden perch that runs down the middle of the cage is pretty dirty. I have the nest box in securely, but for some reason I have it in my head that if I take it out the nest box which touches it will come crashing down...and that would be horrible. D: So I figure it can be a little dirty since mom and dad dont spend a lot of time out anyways and currently their poops inflict mass amounts of damage! Haha.

Wow! May I ask where you got that cage?

@Dizzy- I actually got the cage for free about 3 years ago when I adopted a cockatoo. The cockatoo died about a year ago, and decided to move my tiels in. The bar spacing on it is probably bigger than most would suggest, but mine dont seem to have any issues with it. I have seen ones like it posted on craigs list pretty inexpensively.

@Sarah, your cage is amazing! Those are some lucky tiels!

This is an updated picture of the cage:

I believe the three of them are at the bottom of the cage pigging out! :p

It is the Prevue Hendryx Flight Cage :)

I'm sorry I hadn't checked this thread earlier to answer your question.

I have several perching places for the birds. They just don't show up too well in the pic. And, nothing is attached to the sliding doors, of course.

I have no problem hanging anything in that cage because for perches I simply use a hanger bolt with a fender washer and wing nut. Lots of perches are sold with this hardware. Easy to install. And there are lots of bowls that are attached to the cage by a screw type setup. I never have a problem with it.

Hello, I am a new tiel owner! We have had Teeter (male) for about 3 weeks now. I am learning that his current cage is not good for him. I have been researching cages for days now, trying to find the perfect cage within my budget. One question I do have, some of the larger cages have thicker perches, is that okay for him? Can anyone recommend a website with good cages for the price. I am trying to stay at or below $150.00, if possible. I need something sturdy with others pets and children. Thanks.

I would like to recommend a couple cages that are a really good size for a good price and are very popular, if you look through this thread some members may have posted pics of these cages here. Now you can search for these yourself as well on google if you like:)

the A&E flight cage, http://www.amazon.com/CAGE-CO-32-Inch-21-Inch-Sandstone/dp/B004MZV1Q6

The HQ Flight cage, http://www.amazon.com/HQ-32x21-Flight-Stand-Birds-Pure/dp/B002UTU7X4

The prevue Flight cage is cheaper than the one above and BjKnight93 has a picture of it posted above your post, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002UTU7X4&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0JW64FV3DGYW51AFWQ8H
