I'd love to see what type of cage or aviary you have for your cockatiels! It would be helpful to people looking to set up a cage for a new tiel too! :D

This is mine, it's dimensions are 18"d x 30"w x 33"h.

I have Cookie and Bailee in it and they seem to have lots of space, so both them and me are very happy with it.:)

Ha ha...I was thinking that too...that plant is all chewed up anyway! lol- It was suppose to be decoration but the bird..well...

Aly, I really like your cages. I love it how they all have the same cage as well. What are the dimensions of it? I saw one of them for sale somewhere, and I really liked the look of them. :)
Thanks. I had to get them all the same- I'm a bit obsessed with things like that..hehe
The first time I got them for just under $100 US and the last one, Ziggy's was I think $70. GREAT price for very sturdy cages. Even the coating on them is durable.

Dimensions, I can't really help you with...hehe- I just looked at it and knew they would work. Let me see if I can find it online.

I can't seem to find the dimensions but here are some inside pics to give you an idea.
They both have the same set up with minor changes.
Two food cups, one water bowl, a large wood perch, a natural wood perch, a door perch, a pedicure perch, a swing, a calcium perch, cuttle bone, a mineral block, a lava rock, a mirror, a hanging toy, some wood blocks, etc, large stairs and some small stairs...

Thanks for posting pics. :)
I still love it, I don't know what it is about it, I'll try and look out for it.

Here's Sawyer's cage. (Try to ignore my food shelf in the second picture. :p)

It's 20"x20" and about 25" high (the cage portion, anyway... it's about 63" with the stand). Almost the same cage as Baby's and Ziggy's cages -- I think the stand part and the bottom half of the cage is identical, but the top of Sawyer's is a little more rectangular and opens up.

Mine needs a couple more toys and some better perches, that one thick one near the bottom is way too big for him. The perches I bought to replace it were one or two inches too short and I haven't been able to find longer ones yet. :(
Gonna replace the blanket I use to cover it as well. I'm afraid his nails will get caught in it one day. *worrywart*

Oh- I found the cage- I had the link for it and then it was gone-Oh- I found the cage- I had the link for it and then it was gone- http://www.petco.com/product/11327/Avian-Select-Quick-Cage-Dometop-Bird-Cage.aspx- I didn't pay that amount for it at all- not even the first two that were a bit pricer- just the other day they had the price showing on sale 89.99 then I went to the store and got it for $70- with perches and everything it ran me up over $100 though.hehe

Oh b*****!! I didn't read it properly. I must have phoned 7 pet shops today, 5 of them had cages in stock, but after I asked the bar spacing, 4 of them was a no!! Oh well. :p

I asked them the actual bar spacing, most of them had to look it up on a computer to double check.

They are at a local bird store. It's called "Paterson Bird Store". They have a website but they don't sell stuff on-line. I can contact them if you would like.

For your info, some dimensions:
Ladder from floor to cage opening: 36" long
Ladder (Inside of cage): 24" long

Cage Dimensions: 26" wide x 18" deep x 30" high

Cage Stand: 24" high

I hope this helps.

Well, I see that nearly all the cages are store made. I don't have $200+ to spend on a cage. I do, however, have a bunch of time on my hands, and I like to be creative! I posted an add for wire shelving, and I purchased a sheet of pegboard and some zip ties! You can imagine the rest... I'm about to put the birdies in- just a few touches left... and a bunch of pictures to take. It will house all 4 birds. The dementions are 41 inches long, 17 inches deep and 46 inches tall. I've VERY excited! Just taking a little break, and then I'll finish up and get pictures! :D I'll be back later tonight!

Ok, here we go... $18 for the wires...$7 for the peal and stick tiles under the news paper... and $7 for the pegboard.... my HUGE (41L x 46H x17D) cage for $32!!!

Very nice size but keep in mind that shelf wire is most likely not coated with bird safe coating at all. I am 100% sure of that. Any other paint or paint that is not coated is toxic.

It's also very easy to rust which is really not good for them. Any rust on anything is bad for them. The swing in the pic should be removed.

As far as I've read the contents of pegboard is also not safe-plus they can easily chew through it and it tramps any humidity easily. Hard for climbing too which tiels do alot of.

The twist ties are used in some toys but the ones with the metal inside are not safe so they shouldn't be allowed to chew it. I think the ones you used are not with the metal though.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way-I love that you like to make your own but you have to be careful what material you're using with them. I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news-I just want to help.
