It's not that big! I'm 5' 4" and it comes up to my chin.
Ok, good! Glad to hear--I am also 5'4".

Maybe I was confused. I thought that 68.5 inches was around 5'8", which would be taller than me.

In the future I may add another tiel to keep the other company while I am at work, so this will be a good fit. Plus, I want to spoil him/her anyway.

Thanks again for all the help you guys have been giving me. I'm a huge animal lover and this is a big deal to me. I want everything to be great for the little guy/girl I get.

5 feet is 60 inches so there must be something wrong with their measurement in that case. The rest of the dimensions sound right though. I measured it and the depth from the front to the back is 24". The width from one side to the other is 31" and the total height including stand is just under 60" WITHOUT the castors. I took mine outside to give it a good cleaning and lost two of the castors on some concrete steps so I just took them all off. It seems fine to me without them! The seed catcher also adds several inches to both the depth and width dimentions.

The cage should come any day now so I'll let you know how the set up goes!

Gosh...all your cages are so nice! I wish I had found you guys BEFORE i bought mine!!! I bought mine from Petsmart...it was listed as a cockatiel cage starter. But darn for $50 more I could have had an awesome cage like the ones I just seen!

I paid $99 for this one and it came with a few supplies. I wonder if I can return it? I don't have any of the packaging but I have my receipt, but I also opened and used all the supplies it came with.

Tell me your honest opinions!

I say the bigger the cage the better :) I would also get a variety of perches so his feet don't get sore. Also a few more toys would be fun. You can always save up to get a new cage and keep the old one for a travel/hospital cage. Just make sure he gets plenty of out of cage time and Iam sure he will be fine.

Oh Sarahbeth! Looks like you might need to get another to help fill that big ole' cage! No really...the bigger the better! There's no such thing as too big for a 'tiel.

Yes Breny I have that cage! Sarahbeth does too! The bar spacing is fine. Never had any accidents with it. I currently have 5 in it because they are young that I am selling. I put a couple of shelves in it and ladders am they seem to use the whole cage. I hope you can see with these pics!
They always ham it up for the camera

you can see three on the upper shelf

As of right now, I may be purchasing this cage soon. Possibly within the next few weeks.

I plan to extend my flock so now I need more cages and more room! Does anyone have any experience with this specific cage?
I have found it on a site for as cheap as about $250. I think there was free shipping as well.
I'm possibly even looking for a larger one, but i may just stay with this one and get another cage.

I wanted to build my own, but I'm not very handy.

Oh awesome! Love your set up!!! They look very happy! Do you happen to have a picture of the whole cage, so i can see the whole view?
