I'd love to see what type of cage or aviary you have for your cockatiels! It would be helpful to people looking to set up a cage for a new tiel too! :D

This is mine, it's dimensions are 18"d x 30"w x 33"h.

I have Cookie and Bailee in it and they seem to have lots of space, so both them and me are very happy with it.:)

Current setup :D I havent posted a pic since I changed the cage around.. since the last photo they have new rope perches, new swing and toys etc :)

I'm hoping to get a flight cage if I can somehow sell this one. It's ok for now- they get lots of out time and plenty of toys, but I'd love for them to have a nice big flight cage.. but will just have to wait and see what happens. Cages arent the easiest to sell :/

Aghh yeah, bar spacing is a bugger! I've seen a couple of nice cages around that I'd love to have for the birds, but the bar spacing is just too big- similar to yours by the looks of it.

Haha thanks :) I like the way it is now.. because its a smaller style cage, I didnt want to clutter it too much, so I look the extra perch out and replaced it with that red mineral perch, which opens that area a huge amount! And as you can see, Chip loves walking around the bottom of the cage. At least thats something- they could be one of those birds that will only use the top half!

Very nice Solace,
it's right what Mythara said "they all head to the top not much happening at the bottom" :D

I hope to get a bigger cage for my lot when I get a few things lowered,
it's defo gotta have a seed catcher though cleaning upafter 3x tiels is a a ongoing thing morning noon and night lol

my ideal cage is that montana Penthouse one but it prob be out of date by the time I get round to cage buying :)

The 'tiels have a new set-up. I like to change it every now again these days especially since it's breeding season at the moment.

I gave them a boing, and I changed the bottom half of their cage a bit.

I added more toys, it was bare since it was just re-done.

It's big enough for two Cockatiels, but you can't just shove them in together, you have to introduce them slowly before caging them together.. and you need to be prepared that you may have to have them in separate cages if they don't get along.

Serenity's cage

This is Serenity's cage, it's a 30'' flight cage. It has 2 bottle brush perches, a rope perch, a rubber bendy perch and a calcium perch, which has made her feet and belly pink, lol. She also has a ladder and happy hut that she doesn't use. It's got a couple of toys which she loves trying to destroy. She's only in it when we're not home and of a night time. The towel is around the bottom to catch the seed.

Nice cage - she could do with some more toys though. ;) As she's a female, I'd suggest taking the happy hut out - they often decide they're nests, and start laying eggs, which can cause all sorts of problems. You can get similar things, which are tents over perches that they can snuggle up in - and because they have a perch, rather than a solid base, you don't get the same problems with nesting. :)

I will take the happy hut out first thing tomorrow. I am going to get her some more toys. Only bought the stand yesterday so just watching my money. She's one spoilt little girl. What do you suggest for toys?

My 'tiels aren't keen on hard wood (like pine), but they love natural toys, with things like palm shredders, coconut fibres, vine balls, seagrass, balsa wood, etc that they can shred up to pieces. There are also three bought foraging toys I have that my birds love, Nutcase, Foraging Sphere and Baffle Treat Cage. They're really long lasting, but you can change them around easily and put new things in them, so everytime you put them in, they're a brand new toy! Skewers are also great to have - you can use them for fruit and veg, or as toys, and hang loads of different toy parts on really easily. :)

I did it everyone!!! :D I bought a new cage for the tiels!! It's not here yet, my dad has to pick it up in the ute.. its a black flight cage, and it a huge step up from the cage they have now (although the one i have now is better quality.. the new one is much, much bigger).

I will post pictures as soon as I have it set up :D I cant wait!!

This is the exact one I got (i found the pic here although i didnt get it from this website).

I think they will be impressed!! What do you think?

I finally got a picture of the tiels new cage! I love it  and I think the birds do too! I love how roomy it is.. they seem to be enjoying the extra space to do their own thing. They have 5 toys and their swing so far (they have more, but id prefer to rotate them rather than clutter). I'm going to make them some foraging toys too when i get a chance.

I need to get them another perch for down the bottom right corner as there is nothing there at the moment, and also a bigger calcium perch. They are both busily munching on carrot tops in the pic :p

Ok, pic time!

What a wonderful huge cage cheekyboy! what are the dimensions on that?
They look very happy with all that room to stretch.

I just got a new cage for Wally, its pretty huge considering its just him inside. He is one spoiled 'tiel!
Hopefully I'll have some pics up soon but the dimensions on it are 38" high 32" wide and 22" deep

Ok, I finally got some pictures ready of the cage. The first picture is what our original setup was. The second picture is after reading Mythara's blog and going toy shopping... if only she would play now. :)

HappyWDWCampers- That looks like a very comfy and fun cage to be in! :D Nice work!

Wallybird- It is certainly very spacious.. the dimensions are: H34"xL32"xB21", so its around the same as yours, only 4" shorter. It was $180 AUD, already put up. I think they are both pretty happy, although I am about to introduce another tiel to that cage, but they should still have plenty of room. I've been told it can hold 4, so 3 should be a breeze. And well, Wally is just one spoilt little birdie having it all to himself! He will think he owns the place in no time!
