I'd love to see what type of cage or aviary you have for your cockatiels! It would be helpful to people looking to set up a cage for a new tiel too! :D

This is mine, it's dimensions are 18"d x 30"w x 33"h.

I have Cookie and Bailee in it and they seem to have lots of space, so both them and me are very happy with it.:)

Yes Breny I have that cage! Sarahbeth does too! The bar spacing is fine. Never had any accidents with it. I currently have 5 in it because they are young that I am selling. I put a couple of shelves in it and ladders am they seem to use the whole cage. I hope you can see with these pics!
They always ham it up for the camera

you can see three on the upper shelf

As of right now, I may be purchasing this cage soon. Possibly within the next few weeks.

I plan to extend my flock so now I need more cages and more room! Does anyone have any experience with this specific cage?
I have found it on a site for as cheap as about $250. I think there was free shipping as well.
I'm possibly even looking for a larger one, but i may just stay with this one and get another cage.

I wanted to build my own, but I'm not very handy.

So it has been decided. I am definitely getting the cage. I talked to an old friend and he said he knew someone who was involved in the "animal business". He told me I might be able to get the cage for a discount (which is totally awesome!). After work yesterday I got all excited from the news and drove to petsmart and blew all the money I had on me. I got huge swing, various perches (including rope, two edible ones (which seems like it may do wonders for their beak and nails), A thick long branch, a new mineral block (I should probably buy more cuttle bones.. my turtle used up most of them already) and I also got this toy; http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753631, which I'm sure the birds will love.
I'm such a loser being excited to get this new cage. I plan to have it all in and set up at the end of the month (crosses fingers).

Well I have found a breeder near me of cockatiels and she has several young hand-fed 'tiels that I can pick from once weaned. I will probably get two since the new Hilton Bird Hotel is open for business! This cage is huge! And I ordered all new items that should be arriving soon. It'll be awesome in there for them.

Here is our sweet boy in his old cage:

Here is the old cage before I took it apart and washed the stuff to add to the new cage until I get all the new stuff! (18x18x24)

and the new one is 32x23x47 (but stands 61" high), my cutie DD helped me put it together. She did great and is doing the Vanna White thing for me, LOL!

We love the cage and it was a cinch to build. If you look close, the top scalloped part is folded down; cool!

Also the shelf bottom had shown on the website, that it would be a grate like the bars of the cage, but when I got it unpacked, it was flat which I like even better! Now I don't have to worry about small stuff falling through the cracks.

I think Cricket feels a little lost in it, but he'll soon love it!

He loves to shred paper!

Yes, I do love it. I've had it for several months now and I still find it easy to clean and Ronan certainly loves it. Hopefully the new girl(s) will too when I get them and they're finished the 30 day quarantine. Cleaning the inside of the roof is the worst thing about it, but I just consider that to be my weekly yoga workout. lol

I also find that the budgies love it too; they like to sit on the balcony and keep watch over the household. They used to play on the tops of doorways and windows when they got out, now they like to spend more time playing inside this cage.

I still need to get some toys for the bottom, and I have rope perches coming in the mail so he doesn't have to have those horrid dowel perches. We're making a trip to PetSmart this weekend :thumbu: I hope to get him a larger cage in the future, but this will do for now. He seems to enjoy it :)

Here's pictures of my new tiel Tiger, and her cage. She lives next to our 6 zebrafinches, who are in the 2nd cage (same type). It's a popular model here and we like it. Tiger is still getting used to us though, and does not like to come out of the cage--guess it will take some time to build trust and for her to get use to use -- still only a week now that we've had her.

Here's ours all set up. I've since added another perch and some new toys. I love this cage....I think I've said that a million times! LOL. It was so worth the money spent. We normally leave the top down and the breeder door open up on the top right side. They like climbing around on the cage. The front door is normally closed.

This is my cage in the works. I've still got some modifications to do. currently it's got a king size sheet around the 2 sides and back, and pulled over the top for night. This is part to reduce mess, and part so they have more space away from my cats. it works really nice! I'd LIKE to frame the back, bottom of the sides, and bottom of the front in Plexi glass, but i haven't checked the hardware store yet for sizes available! I've got the food dish in the back corner.... saves on my vacuuming! The bar spacing is just under an inch.

There's 4 toys in there, and 2 calcium blocks (grape flavor apparently). you just can't see them! lol. i re arranged today though, so the perches are different, and there's more toys. Trying to discourage Cousteau from laying eggs for another 3 weeks. (She & Sammy were mating today!)

The first picture is the actual cage.. there is two perches, millet spray and holder, a cuddlebone and holder, veggie seed stick, another little holder for other treats and the normal water and seed bowl.

The second picture is a play area David, My boyfriend, made for the birds. theres a swing, a ladder, five perches and a place for millet spray..

Your cage is like mine, only mine's double the size. :D they're good cages.

RitzieAnn, your cage is AMAZING.. I'm so jealous, your 'tiels are so lucky. Isn't it funny when you have a big cage for them, and when they're in it, they look so little. LOL! :p

yea David is very creative when it comes to building things. we are about to move and when we do he has plans to make a huge cage from the ceiling down almost to the floor with a book/bird stuff shelf under it.. hes amazing.. lol.. He is thinking of making the play areas and selling them. Do you think anyone would buy them?
