Hi, my name is steven. I am recently new to your site but not to cockatiels.
I had a Normal(grey) male cockatiel when i was growing up it was hand reared from a baby and was lovely, i no longer have any pictures tho:(

I recently bought two lovely new cockatiels, One wich i assume to be a male silver & the other to be a female Pearl, have had them about a week now, the female pearl came with a few tail feathers missing & look like they have been neglected and i just had to buy them because i couldnt walk away knowing they was like that, Now she has lost/broke all of her tail feathers but shes starting to look abit more healthy. The male silver seems to be in better shape.

I think they was aviary birds but i am looking to train them up so they can fly free around the household. I have no idea how old they both are but i wouldnt say there very old.

If u have any suggestions to there not the breeds/sex to what i think they are please feel free to help me out:)

Anyway enough talk ill upload a few pictures of these beautiful birds:love:

First time when they tried to mate was outside of the cage but never in, i always stopped them soon as i herd them i rushed to them, they succeeded a few times but no eggs due to not having a nest box.

Its going to be fun stopping them again lol but later on when babies are older they can go back in the big cage with others

Its been 9 days since Charlie & basil mated. they are both going in and out of the nestbox but i still cant tell if shes going to lay? they have been mating vertualy every day since i first noticed they mated. is there any signs i can tell if she is going to lay? she has been altering around with the aspen inside the box too.

They are both constantly in it, shes always got her butt in the air. the nestbox was nice and neat with a bowl dug in it now its messed up with a bowl in a different spot. they never stay apart either, its been 9 days since i first saw them mate and they just did again. i hope its soon ive been finding out about them and my male we think is a gray split to wf and she is a lutino split to pied WF. Here are some of the results

Mother:Lutino Split To Pied Whiteface
Father:Grey Split To Whiteface

male offspring:
13% Whiteface Split To Pied {X2: Lutino}
13% Grey Split To Pied {X2: Lutino}
25% Grey Split To Pied Whiteface {X2: Lutino}
13% Whiteface Split To {X2: Lutino}
13% Grey Split To {X2: Lutino}
25% Grey Split To Whiteface {X2: Lutino}

female offspring:
13% Whiteface Split To Pied
13% Grey Split To Pied
25% Grey Split To Pied Whiteface
13% Whiteface
13% Grey
25% Grey Split To Whiteface

so it could be fun lol :p
