Hi, my name is steven. I am recently new to your site but not to cockatiels.
I had a Normal(grey) male cockatiel when i was growing up it was hand reared from a baby and was lovely, i no longer have any pictures tho:(

I recently bought two lovely new cockatiels, One wich i assume to be a male silver & the other to be a female Pearl, have had them about a week now, the female pearl came with a few tail feathers missing & look like they have been neglected and i just had to buy them because i couldnt walk away knowing they was like that, Now she has lost/broke all of her tail feathers but shes starting to look abit more healthy. The male silver seems to be in better shape.

I think they was aviary birds but i am looking to train them up so they can fly free around the household. I have no idea how old they both are but i wouldnt say there very old.

If u have any suggestions to there not the breeds/sex to what i think they are please feel free to help me out:)

Anyway enough talk ill upload a few pictures of these beautiful birds:love:

I have a new addition, a 8 month old cinnamon male. Was free too a good home. Paid 5 British pounds to pick it up in petrol & I donated the woman 5 pounds for the bird so all in all cost me 10pound for a beautiful bird. He's called basil & he's abut nervous but he's not to bad if you want to touch him. He's got one wings feathers clipped so should be easier to tame. I will get up pictures soon:)

They do ask for stupid prices, i ask can i just have the tiel instead of tiel and cage.
Taco and Buttercup cost 20 each as they was aviary birds, cookie was the most 40 and he was hand reared, he was 50 but he dropped 10 of for me

These were just 45 pound each no cage, no history & last time we had a bird they ringed it to tight and it had to have a Op and never survived so all we get from there is food

I have just recently made a deal with a local small time petshop near me, they will take any of my babies that I can get to them after they are three weeks old and they will finish hand raising them, but I have to supply pictures of the parents and alow the people who purchase them to contact me some way... I gave them this website, and my E-Mail.

Today I opened and left the lid slightly open on the nestbox and my female(Bailey) went right in after I did:p think that helped encourage her as she could see what was in there?

Bailey keeps leaning forward off the pearch beak virtually directly at the floor and extending both her wings and stays like that for awhile and keeps doing it. Know why she does it?

They do it to claim a space.... atleast thats why mine do it... Mostly my males.

I hope they will soon, maybe they just need more time to settle in first :)

She kept going in when roof was open but I think it was just to eat the hay, now its closed she doesn't go in, she just sits on the perch outside
