I have just gotten Petrie a harness, and i am just introducing it to him for now, he doesnt seem to hate it, just still unsure as i try to lasso him into it Good luck.

 

I have an aviator harness and I've tried it on two of my birds so far. Jeep hated it (but I found out later he doesn't like his touched at all so that explains it) and Pebbles didn't really care one way or the other. I think I'm gonna take her out today on it for some sun...

 

Oooh, I'm interested in this too! If anyone knows a good model that has worked for them, let me know...I can't really build a good aviary ATM...:/

 

I have an aviator and I love it - but it depends on your bird. Rudy I knew would be fine, and he is but he spends most of the time chewing on it (the buckle) Pheonix just is much more jumpy with it and I wont force her into it, Rudy is "bombproof" lol.
They are pretty much escape proof as well, and come with an informative dvd.

I *highly* recommend the aviator harness, it is the best harness out there that you can get.

 

I can vouch for the aviator harness too! I have two for my birds (need to get another one for Sarge). As long as your bird is ok being handled around their wings and head you should be ok. It didn't take long for mine to get used to them. In fact Sarge has only worn it once and he was fine with it. They nibble on the buckle when we're sitting still but walking around they're all good

 

Mine have never minded the harness itself, just the restrictive handling (all 45 seconds of putting it one lol). That's why I started my baby, Petree, with it so young. I've been working with our other babies too, but not as much as Petree, since we are keeping him.

 

has anyone ever had any harness escapees? That's my fear

 

Look up a video on putting on a bird harness on Youtube. I have never used them before but I looked that up and it helped reduce my fears about escapes a lot. Based on how its put on and everything, as long as you put it on the right way I don't see how a bird could escape from that.

 

oh my goodness. This makes me want to get her a harness even more now. =]. I think Bailey would enjoy going outside for a little sun everynow and again.

 

I havn't taken Louise outside, but one thing I always make sure to do before I leave for work is to open the blinds so she can see outside.
