Hello All,
We have a 5 day old cockatiel (Kekes) that we had to assist in hatching (assisted zip at 33 hours after pip, and hatch at 41 hours). The chick seemed to have had its feathers dried to the egg shell. We had Kekes incubated and hatched, and we are concerned with the overall health. Kekes eats very well, but has not been able to walk. Legs are both forward, somewhat. Wings near-constantly shake, and outward, unless when fully asleep. Head is near-constantly drooped down, unless when eating. We fear the parents may have been siblings from the ring identifiers. The incubator is 95F @ 70Hum. The food is Exact Formula, prepared with reverse-osmosis water heated to 160+, then food added after, and cooled to neck/wrist warmth before feeding. Kekes began eating formula within 18 hours of umbilical detachment.
It's our first hatchling, and we just don't know enough to be sure if anything is wrong. Haven't been on a forum in years, I have videos, but unsure how to post them.
