Are those stick oil diffusers bird safe? The ones where it is a small little jar with oil and wooden sticks in it. I wasn't planning on using the commercial scents but rather a single essential oil like the ones they sell at whole foods. There would be no fans or anything like that to spread it around, just the sticks absorbing the oil. The area I am wanting to put one of these is on the same floor as the birds. If not on the same floor, could I at least have one downstairs?

Aromatherapy and essential oils aren't recommended around birds. It ought to be safe enough if you can't smell anything in the area where the birds are. But if you can smell it near the birds they are inhaling it, and you want to avoid that.
