Curious as to where everybody else works? I'll start off.

I work in a supermarket chain called Coles! I'm a full-time supervisor in the service department (checkouts) and I do the close shift during the week (lots of cleaning and counting tills and dealing with annoying customers that the others can pawn off on me since I'm in charge LOL!). I looooove my job, just not some of the people I work with!

What about you guys? :D

I am a combat medic in the US Army. After 4 years and a deployment to Iraq I am getting out and completing my contract in January. At that point I am going to attend Kansas State University for their Pre Nursing program. My husband is a full time Fire Fighter.

Thank you! My husband also did 9 yrs active duty as a Marine before he finished up and became a Fire Fighter. We love our jobs because we both love to help people. I'm excited about nursing school - can't wait to live the civilian life again! lol

I am a customer service cashier at a department store, but I am training to become a school bus driver. I was a school bus driver when my kids were younger. The pay and the hours are better.

First off, I must say thank you to Slowzak and your husband! Although a thank you is just no enough!

I love it when someone says they enjoy their job. There are so many working because they have to work and are stuck in a job that just really makes their life more of a living ****. So for those of you who love what you do... AWESOME! :)

I myself, am currently unemployed and actively looking. But for the time being I am enjoying (I say this with a smile.. really.. lol) being a full-time nanny/grandma to 2 year old twin boys. My daughter is working and paying the bills at this time as daycare and the cost of having her own place on her own would just break her right now.

I have had many jobs in the past including a Health Plans Specialist, a Recruiter for Computer Programmers, a clerk in a pet store, an LNA working night shift and a volunteer at a local place that was a second hand shop that recycled/restored/reused everything from kitchen appliances to building supplies. These were all really great experiences.

That being said.. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. :)

I'm a grad student, so I basically get paid to work three days a week in the lab and go to class. I love it, but it's way less than minimum wage when you compute the hours that I end up working. I do feel really lucky, though -- I'm getting paid to train for my dream job. :)

I work as a cashier at our local pool...its only part time to get me through school. I served in the Navy for four years as a cryptologist and my hubby is doing that job now while I finish school to become a nurse. Once I'm done with school and have a job and have gotten my career started he wants to get out and be a cop.

Ohh yeah! And thats another thing, once my boyfriend finishes his apprenticeship - he's a 3rd year apprentice panelbeater - and we buy a house (one more year for his apprenticeship and probably 2 or 3 till we can afford a house - ridiculously expensive to live here ) I also want to go to uni to study nursing. Its a very high-demand job here in australia and if you study you are pretty much guaranteed a job when you finish (and while you are studying) :p

My area is like that too. I just have to keep that in mind when I get depressed about having 6-8 more years before licensure lol

Bella, I know what you mean! My hubby is a full time fire fighter so he works 24 hours on and 24 hours off. When he wakes up at work he is going home and when he wakes up at home he's going to work. Sometimes I feel like he's just a roommate! LOL Good thing I have my birds and puppies or I'd be super lonely! LOL
