Hi there,
So excited to have picked up my first tiel today.
Think we've decided to call him Spikey!
(We 'think' he's a boy - would people agree from how he looks or too soon?!)

Can anyone advise which mutation he is classed as please?

He'll be 9 weeks old tomorrow, already chirping away at me and exploring his new home.
Plan to give him a day or 2 to settle in then let the training commence!

Been coming on here over the last few weeks doing my research, so much helpful info, I'll no doubt be posting more questions at some point!
Lovely seeing everyones tiels too 🥰

Oh, congratulations! It’s always nice to have a cockatiel for the first time! Good luck and I hope you become good friends :)
Mutation: Looks like a cinnamon with a bit of pied on his/her head. Probably a Cinnamon Pied, but I can’t be sure since it’s a baby
Gender: It’s hard to tell when it’s young. I’ve attached some images below of my male when I first got him, and another one about how he looks now. Youngs have a grey head and patterned tail feathers, which eventually drop off into plain grey ones. Females keep these traits as they grow.

I absolutely love Spikey! He’s so cute! Take care <33

Arhh I'd guessed a cinnamon pied after lots of reading up!
Thank you for your reply, your tiel when he was young looks just like Spikey, and beautiful now. It's been a week since we picked him up and last 2days he's been eating treats from my hand so building up his trust 👍🏼

Awww! He's adorable! You'd have to wait until after his first molt to know for sure whether he is a male. He is a normal grey split to pied.
