the baby is mostly yellow with a tanish color on the wings and around its cheeks. what does pied mean? I was told that it's mother was lutino spit with cinamon and its daddy was lutino split with whiteface.

Pied is kind of like calico. You will get patches of yellow or white on an otherwise normally colored bird. It's hard to see if the pearled (speckled) feathers are tan or gray but if they are tan she's a Cinnamon Pearl Pied. (Tan, Speckled, Calico). They don't call it that but I figured This might make it easier to get than the official terms.
Do you know what the parents looked like? If the mother didn't have the speckled feathers then it is a girl!

So, after further investigation of the pictures that I posted eariler, I realized that they were not doing my baby justice, so I called in some backup... lol A friend of mine brought over her really cool digital camera and we were able to get some much better shots than the ones that I took with my camera-phone. See, the baby is yellow... REALLY yellow. Almost like a canary, and the pics that I had taken washed out the babys color. Also, it's wings are tan... not grey. I took a few of the baby next to my female with grey on her...so that you can sort of see the colouring better. so here goes....

there maybe that will help determine the color/sex of the baby.. (she does not have white on her.. its all yellow but for some reason the camera flash washes out her color and she appears white)

OK! Deffinitely Cinnamon Pearl Pied! But if the Mom is also Cinnamon Pearl it could be a boy or a girl. If Mom is a regular Pearl it is a girl. They only drawback to male pearls is they lose all those pretty speckled feathers in maturity. At the age of about 6 months when your baby drops some old feathers and replaces them with new ones check the new ones out. If they are still pearled you have a girl. So you could wait or check out what Mom is. The only problem with that is if she is Cinnamon Pearl you still won't know 'till the first molt.

very lovely...

if mom is normal pearl ... means dad was split pearl too.. in order to get this pearl baby that could be boy or girl.. but as seeing he/she´s also cinnamon and if mom is normal pearl that would mean you have a girl... but if mom is cinnamon too... well... you´ll just have to wait and/or DNA...

kinda of complicated having both parents pearl and pied and cinnamon.. haha... will hang on for pics to be more sure about it...
