We have a female that has laid many eggs this last 6 months. She has now stopped laying eggs but 2 days ago the oddest thing happened. There was a blob looking ball of goo on the bottom of her cage.... It did not look like an egg but maybe one without a shell but it kept its round form so I have no idea what it was...... Help please.

I think you are correct

Im thinking you are correct with the underdeveloped egg theory. Is this harmful to her? She is the only bird in our home and when she laid her clutches over the last year they all looked normal. We have plenty of coddle bone in her cage and we give her vitamins in her water.

Does she get much sunlight? Vitamin D is very important in the process of absorbing calcium, as it sounds like she needs more calcium. Another thing you can try is feeding her some scrambled eggs with the eggshell crushed into it, and also calcium rich plant foods such as spinach, kale, broccoli etc.

Call a local avian vet for an opinion and suggestions for food you can offer her. Usually they are willing to give some info over the phone without actually requiring you to bring the bird in. It might not be a bad idea to do so anyway though. They should go in for yearly checkups =]
