and I noticed his finger is a bit crooked and when he’s resting he always has that foot tucked inside resting only on the normal one but he walks fine and perches on both too. I taped it straight and thought about leaving for a few weeks and change every other day, would that work?
His other toes look OK, so I would guess that it's either some kind of birth defect, or some kind of injury that occurred when he was very young. It's probably too late to correct it now, but you can try taping it to see if it helps.
