We've previously posted that Nyx was making strange noises and believed it to be courting. Now we're not so sure. We've changed the inside of her cage around to make her feel less safe (have read this should stop her wanting to court) and also have increased her hours of darkness to hopefully decrease her hormones. She's also started doing this strange behaviour when in her water bowl and even if no ones in the room. Other than this she is perfectly active and healthy.

So please watch the videos and see if this is definitely courting. Or if not do any of your tiels do this and what an earth is it?

Thanks :)

Yes thats the female mating stance and behaviour, it also looks like shes using the water bowl to mate with, hopefully hormone reduction techniques will help :)

Strnge noises

Yes, that's exactly what Lolita does-noises and all, when she gets hormonal.
Lolita will try to get me to pet her when she is "in the mood". She thinks I'm the boy Cockatiel:p
