Hi everyone. My girls only eat bok choy, pak choy and kale (they had kale for the first time today and loved it) and I was just wondering if that's really enough for them or if I need to introduce more kinds of veg? If so, do you guys have any suggestions on what to feed them? They don't like broccoli very much and I tried to give them spinach, which they ate, but then I read it can hurt them by blocking the absorption of calcium so I stopped giving it to them. I'm paranoid about that stuff lol. Really they are only interested in leafy greens and ignore everything else.

*edit
They eat small parrot mix and fruity pellets also :)

Those are healthy for them, but the more foods the better because of a wider range of nutrients. Dark leafy greens are the best sources of nutrients because they are nutrient rich so those would be the best to feed them. Here are a list of safe foods for 'tiels. Maybe see if they are interested in them? :) http://www.cockatielcottage.net/tablefoods.html

Spinach still allows them to absorb some of the calcium and they will also find other sources of calcium to eat throughout the day. Even when they eat spinach they will absorb some of the calcium in the spinach and other foods they eat, but it will block some of it. If he eats spinach along with foods containing Vitamin C it will stop the spinach from blocking calcium absorption. So if he also ate it with something like tomatoes, fruit, or other Vitamin C high foods it would have no negative effect on calcium. Make sure it is organic spinach though because it is very high in pesticide usually if it is not. :)
