I need some recipes! I'm trying to introduce Missy to more fresh foods and figured a chop or mash would be a good place to start. :) (I know we have a recipe thread, but there's a LOT to dig through amongst all the birdie breads and comment.)

My go to:

Ingredients:
-Pasta
-Rice
-Frozen mixed veg (bird safe ones of course)

How to:
-Boil water in saucepan
-Add all ingredients. Cook until soft.
-Drain any water and allow to cool
-Put through food processor if you have one, or a blender. I aim to turn it into a crumb like texture.

I feed it to my budgies just like that and they love it. My tiel on the other hand, will starve himself before eating it, so I have to mix lots of seeds through it to get him to try it. He is making progress though!

My other go to is to finely chop/grate some fresh veggies such as carrots, celery, and whatever I have on hand that is bird safe. I mix it together, and serve fresh. Same thing with the seeds though!

Thanks, Binca!

I borrowed my Mom's NutriBullet this evening and grabbed some bird-safe veggies we currently have in the fridge; and I came up with this.

Carrots
Cilantro
Celery
Harrison's pellets
Sprouts
a few pieces of sliced Red Cabbage (from my salad mix ;P)
and a pinch of Golden Gourmet: A Taste of Australia mix

aaand Missy's beak is currently covered with bits of food. ;) I call that success!
