Hi,
I just bought two 10 weeks old baby cockatiels. I know they still need to settle in and get comfortable with their new environment but is it normal they haven’t moved in the cage or eat or drank anything? (I got them today) Just sleeping and looks a bit terrorised. I always owned adult cockatiels. These are my first hand tamed babies cockatiels. I’m a bit worried that the guy sold them to me too early and they’re not ready to be away from their home. Please if you can advice me it will be much appreciated as I’m getting so anxious about it. Thank you so much in advance x

it is fine if they do not eat for the first day, maybe even a second day. By day three they should at least drink or look interested in the food. Try millet, it is a cockatiel favorite. By ten weeks they should be plenty old to be adopted, I got mine even earlier (barely weaned).
Thank you 😊 appreciate the reply. They’re doing much better now. Eating and moving about. Haven’t see them drinking water yet which is worrying but I’m less anxious about them now. Thank you 😊

They may be drinking or poking at the food when you are not around. Or at night. It is easier to see if they are eating any seeds by only putting a small amount of seeds in their dish, check it a few times during the day. Also maybe mark their water dish and see if it goes down at all.
