So a friend of mine had brought over her bird that she said was a girl some time ago and my sisters tiel and hers had hit it off (also a girl) but now m y sisters tiel who had layed her eggs ( she pulls then after a few days and puts dummies in but this time she didn't I guess) since it was dew time HATCHED she had no idea that these eggs were any different than the others and held chicks . What do we do to help the chicks and prevent this . Along wit cautious watching our birds .

The local pet store should have hand feed formula.

http://www.cockatielcottage.net/breeding.html

That website covers the basics, has a handfeeding video, brooding, and feeding schedule. A reptile heat mat works well for brooding.

Since this is a first time parent, she will need a lot of help especially since its just her.

When you see your sister's bird laying eggs, freezing the eggs or shaking them can prevent chicks from developing and keep this from happening again.

Sounds like your friend's tiel is actually a boy.
