Hi... I have a pair of tiels that have had two clutches previously. They have produced Normal WF, WF Pearl and WF Pied. I just got a WF Lutino! I thought I had a better understanding of genetics, but I am trying to figure out how I got a WF Lutino. Is there someone who can explain what I'm missing. Here's a picture of the new baby. Just a week old. I also attached a picture of Mom and Dad. Thanks so much in advance.

The reason you got a whiteface lutino is because the father, Zero, must be split to Lutino. In order to get a sex-linked mutation, the male has to be visual or split, but the female doesn't have to be visual for it. Therefore, your whiteface lutino is going to be a female. Congratulations!
