Hi,
We got Ziggy a few days ago from an avian centre and have just realised 2 of his toes (are they even called that?) are facing upwards, unlike all the others. I’ll attach pics.
As we’ve only had him for a few days and he isn’t tamed yet, we really don’t want to stress him out and take him to the vets. We also don’t have a carrier yet. We’re worried taking him to the vets will ruin his chances of trusting us. Obviously if it is necessary it will have to be done.
From looking at the pictures, would anyone be able to tell me if this is anything to worry about or if it’s because he’s a baby? (He’s around the 3 month mark)

He will get along with his disability ,I had birds with no toes on 1 foot as long as his legs weren't splayed he will be a real trooper birds with physical problems turn out to melt to your kindness. David

Thanks for replying David. So do you think I should take him to the vets when he gets a bit older and trusts me? I don’t want to leave it too late

Yes, I think you will be just fine taking him to the
vet although I doubt there is much they can do for him other than a regular checkup. I too have a female pearl pied hen that has a deformed wing that we took in. The breeder didn't want her and was going to do away with her! I wasn't having that so we took her in and even with a wing that droops on one side, she can fly as good as the other eleven tiels!!!

P.S We also have a male normal grey called Ziggy!

only if you want to donate to te vets pocketbook LOL es fine and dandy I promisee will be a reat bird my keyboard lost 2 letters till fix letter after F and next to it 2 letters are sticky peace introduce your bird to broccolli and corn on cob carrots boiled yoakswit and rapes or it will just et used to seed or worse pellets
Peace almost vet and ten some birds only....
