Is it a thing with cockatiels to throw eggs out of the box? I have a proven pair of tiels that have had three clutches. Now, the last clutch, I found three eggs out of the box on the bottom of the cage and one broken in the box. Any ideas? They were excellent parents previously. I have heard they will get rid of infertile eggs, but how do they do that? The box entrance is up high so they aren't rolling them out? Confused!

We've had four clutches of babies over the passed few years and HAVE experianced a few eggs on the bottom of cages. I wouldn't say it's normal but it does happen. If your birds are going to THAT much trouble to throw them out, there's not really much you can do about it. In many cases the parent birds know best and chances are, the eggs WERE bad or infertile.
