So today I noticed that my boy Gypsy’s leg is swollen and an orange reddish color at the joint? His other leg is fine and I didn’t notice it the last time I was with him a couple days ago on Thursday. I didn’t hang out with him yesterday (due to my mini-trip) but the nearest vet that actually treats birds is a very long time away from where I live. Anyone had something similar that they could give advice on?

You bird may have injured his leg at the joint. That's what it looks like to me. I'd get him to a vet if at all possible. I know you said it's far, but please try to get there for you bird's sake. You don't want it to get worse. Best wishes; hope he's okay!

Is he using his leg normally or is he holding it up and unable to put pressure on it? Definitely looks like he needs to see a vet.
