Is it normal for cockatiels to fly in to windows? My 2 new tiels aren't clipped yet, though will be tonite. Rocky is fine, has good control ect.. but Stella keeps flying in to things. She flew in to the window, then a neighbourhood cat jumped at the window :eek:which only freaked her out more not to mention scared the heck outta me. I had to catch her in a towel to settle her down. I put her in the cage for awhile and closed all the curtains and she seems fine now but that was a new experience. Is this normal or is she crazy? Will wing clipping help that? I only clip enough to slow them down, they can still fly they're just catchable.

Between Rocky's blood feathers and Stella's "quirks" I may go crazy! :p Lol!

Its normal for some its a stressful time, she is in a new home and getting use to new things she is still unsure of herself and of you, for her safety I think you should clip her wings just till she gets use to her new home before she ends up breaking her neck.

Stella is still new to your house so probably does not know her way round that well. I recommend a clip so Stella can get used to her new home for the benefit of her safety, as Laura said. :)

I would clip her before she gets hurt. When Spike was new I went around with him (clipped) on my finger and tapped on the window and said window and moved him so close his beak would touch it. I think it worked since he has never flew into a window.

Thanks I will try that! She gets clipped tonite, after the kids are in bed. My hubby will hold her so I can do it. I always feel so guilty but we have alot of cats in the neighborhood and if she ever got out...
