So Nyx, who is about 6 months old has laid an egg. On the bottom of her cage (I believe it is intact) and it is infertile as she hasn't been with any males at least since we got her home. We have only had her for 17 days! So its on the cage bottom, she's not sitting on it. Do we leave it or remove it? And it gets a bit trickier as I'd have to remove it to clean her out and then replace it? So what an earth do we do!

Thanks!

You can stick it in a shallow dish at the bottom of the cage. She may not sit on it til she lays more eggs, which in that case removing it will cause her to lay more eggs to replace it so leave it there. http://talkcockatiels.com/showthread.php?t=32330

Leave it otherwise she will replace it and will deplete her body of calcium. Provide her with a calcium D3 supplement. http://www.avitec.com/Nutritional-Supplements-for-Birds-s/9.htm
