I’ve had my baby cocktail for a bit over a week. He has started sleeping during mornings near the bottom of his cage. I’m looking into his diet with improving. His still eating and has started playing.
he also doesn’t groom his tail.
Is this something to be concerned about?

How old is your baby? If yours is 6-8 weeks old, it is normal baby will sleep at bottom of cage.
He can’t be any older then 14 weeks. I brought him from a bird shop over a week ago not long after the bird shop got him from breeders. He still makes the baby bird noises.

For young cockatiel, sleep at bottom cage is fine. He does not master the skill of perching on a stick yet. If there is nest box, he may still go back nest box at night.

As his young cockatiel, it is good time to introduce him health diet such as fresh veggies, and if you want to do any training, it is good time to do so.
