I'm just curious as to why I can not access cockatiel gallery anymore? Has this part been taken down?

Hmm, I can't access it either. The owner has been making a lot of changes recently so that could be why.

Additionally the Go to First Post is now just a link, and in read posts there is not even a link?

And there are no avatars/images next to my username's badge or in the user menu?

I can still see avatars on my PC but all the images in the user menu area are broken and not showing anything. Like I said, the site owner has been making a lot of changes so this is probably one of those.

I can see other avatars too. I meant the top right (the "badge").
Yes, I remember seeing an announcement about the changes. Hopefully these issues will be fixed in the near future. I really liked the gallery.
