So I went to watch a movie in my room and I took Mali in with me. I sat down and had her sitting on my legs on a blanket and I noticed she was breathing heavy, and every now and then she done this sorta sigh but what I thought was gasping for air maybe?

She was absolutely fine his afternoon the last time I had her out which was only 4-5 hours ago. I don't know if it possible for her to catch a cold within that amount of time? perhaps it is. But I did ring 3 vets all they said was 'we can't tell you over the phone you will need to bring her in' I looked up symptoms and the only ones I noticed that she has right now is, she's a bit puffy, sleeping more, and the heavy breathing, she was wheezing but she's not now. When she's sleeping she is sleeping holding up one leg which I looked up about and it says that's perfectly normal [she sleeps holding one leg up all the time]. She seems to be eating fine, drinking and chirping to me like she normally does. Her poop is fine as well.

I know they can hide being sick, so that's why I think it's better to be safe than sorry and take her into the Vet tomorrow just to get them to check her out. One Vet told me it'll be $70-80 to get her checked and another said $50 so I will go to that one, I'd pay whatever but I suppose it's a Vet and it doesn't matter - just as long as she's checked and I know she'll be okay. :(

Just wanted to know if you think that she is sick or not. She's not been near a air conditioner, heater or outside [it's too cold right now anyhow]. I'm keeping her warm at the moment, hoping she will be okay, I just gotta hope for the best that she will be better tomorrow, doubt it though.

Mali went to the Vets today. The Vet man said that she's got a touch of conjunctivitis (the red in her eyes) and she's got a viral infection from not enough nutrition so he gave me the name of some really good stuff to get from the pet shop to put in their water. The infection is also what's causing the heavy breathing/panting/gasping for air.

She also got a Vitamin B Complex Injection (which she hated) and the Vet gave me some Baytril Oral Solution that will make her better within NO TIME. :D

Other than the needle she was really good she sat still and she wasn't biting the Vet or anything she flew off once but she was more than happy to get on the Vet's finger, she stepped up straight away actually, and she still liked him even though he's the one who gave her the needle.

He also said that her weight is excellent she's not too big not too skinny, she's just perfect. So I was happy to hear that. Now I just gotta hope this stuff helps her get well soon, we're all feeling sorry for her here, and she's getting a lot of attention. :p

I am sure she will be better in no time, she sounds like she loves all the attention she is getting! :D It is good that you went to the vets and found out what is wrong and that it isn't to serious and only a needle was the serious part, could have been a lot worse! :D Good Luck, and keep us updated!! :)

Thats great that you took her and its not anything serious, Mali sounds like a sweetheart what a good little girl at the vets :D let us now how she does over the next few days.
She is a sweetheart, and I was really happy with her, I thought she would have went really weird, you know going somewhere different and a different place, it'd be a bit scary but it didn't bother her ONE BIT. :p

Bless her little feathery wings!!! I'm so pleased that it isn't anything too serious and that you have caught it in time. I'm sure she is loving all the attention. lol.
LOL she is most definitely. I laughed @ bless her little feathery wings.

So glad to hear that it isn't anything too serious.

What a good little patient as well!

You must have felt like a proud parent. :)
She was a great patient, and I felt like a very proud parent. The Vet said she's a good little girl, no biting, no struggling (well apart from the needle but that would make you struggle a bit) My friend and my mum were with me when I took her and my friend asked where he puts the needle and they put it in the muscle next to where you can feel if they're too skinny, and my friend got all "ugh " when the Vet said it.

Okay now onto how she's doing. She's been getting her Baytril Oral Solution every morning, and as gross as it probably tastes she doesn't mind it. She still has the red eyes, but I have noticed her breathing/panting is slowing down. (very slowly) I am getting a bit worried, I forgot to ask how long it'd take for her to go back to normal, I know it's not gonna take one day and she'll be all better, but I guess it just takes some time, as I have noticed she's getting a bit better each day.

This is gonna sound weird, but I wake up everyday go straight to the cage, take the blankets off and check if Mali is okay. I'm waking up hoping I don't find her passed away on the bottom of the cage. I am just a worry wart, I don't know what I would do if I lost her. (not that it's gonna happen I won't let it!!)

Yeah, you are right. I'm going to call them today and ask about it and it'll hopefully make me feel better and I won't stress/worry every morning. :)
