Yesterday and today Tiki has spent most of the day in his cage.. Came out only for a little while both days. The door has been open most of the time, Since I am home Friday thro Sunday...He has a perch on the door of his cage as well as a playstation right in front of the door. When he comes to the playstation or the perch on the door, I offer my hand, he steps up , gets some millet, we talk, go sit on the couch or come to the computer room. And he has always done that often thro out the day for the last 3 wks or so. He was out with me Friday, I gave him a good bath with the misting bottle, which he doesn't like much. So decided once a wk would be good. He is not sick, but has been playing with his coconut Tiki Hut both days, its like he has just discovered that he can play with his stuff. Actually, I enjoyed watching him. But feel kind of bad we really didn't spend any time together... tho I have been around all the time. Maybe I have put so much into getting him to feel comfortable with me, I think he should be hanging on that perch all the time wanting to step up...

And he is now relaxing and doing just what he should be doing.. playing..

I wouldn't be worried if he choses to spend a bit more time in the cage, as long as there is some time each day where he's out and preferably playing with someone or something. When i have the budgies and tiels out (7 birds total) they are all off doing their own thing unless one of them wants a cuddle or a mummy kiss. Some come over to chat all the time (Bailee, Blinkie) and others would rather i stayed the heck out of their hair...or is that feathers (Snickers, Ozzie)?

Since I leave the door open when I am home he is free to come out when ever he choses.. and he was out for a little while. We sat on the couch for about 15 mins... and he decided to go back to his cage, and he was out on the playstation for a while.. there too he was biting on some of his toys, like he had just discovered they were there... He isn't cuddly, not yet anyway... and am happy to see him playing with his toys, as in the almost 2 months I have had him, he hasn't really played with any of them.

As with humans and pets all have thier own personality... so am glad to see Tiki showing his....
