well i'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but i cannot find the answer lol.

If i have a male cockatiel alone, am i able to go out and get a female and put it in there so that the first one has someone to play with? I heard that they will kill each other?

No they will not kill each other, most will tolerate each other and some will even really like each other :D 1 have 2 males and 2 females, Ollie and Georgie were my first couple and they tolerate each other, Georgie won't let Ollie get near her but they don't fight they just keep there distance from each other she warns him once and he backs off, now Lee and Minnie are my other couple and those two have been inseperable since day one they eat together sleep together pretty much do everything together. Just make sure when your adding another one that you quarantine them keep them apart for at least 30 days in separate rooms, then you can introduce them ;)

A hypothetical Situation

You already have two tiels, one is a male and the other one is a female. They get along reasonably well.

You are thinking of getting another. Is one sex preferable over the other?
