So my female cockatiel mated with a male cockatiel. This happens a few days ago. And she's been going in and out of her nest a lot. Today I noticed her poop was different. It was MASSIVE. So i know she's definitely carrying an egg mostly. Her cloaca is also pretty red.

I'm new to this so i want to know if these symptoms are normal?

1) her appetite has decreased (she still eats but not as much as before)
2)she's sleeping whenever she comes out of her nest
3) she spends a lot of time in her nest.
4) is the red cloaca a cause for concern?

Egg binding is definitely a cause for concern. Watch carefully her symptoms. Be aware of this condition. Read up on it.

She laid two eggs so far and doesn't seem to show any egg binding signs. I've also been giving her calcium rich food like cooked rice, spinach, eggs and broccoli. If u have any more recommendations as to what I should include in her diet, pls do tell me. I would be very grateful 😊
