Hello! it's my first time owning a bird! I have a 2 month old cockatiel and his name is Nigel. He likes to preen a lot to the point that it concerns me!! He likes to scratch the spot under his wings a lot to the point where i see blad spots on it. What are your opinions? Do you guys think that he has mites? please help me I'm really attached to him and I want him to have the best Thank you all

It could be a really irritated pin feather that's bothering him by itching. Do you live anywhere near a vet (hopefully an avian vet) where you could take him in for a check-up? Normally I wouldn't worry about a tiel preening a lot but if he's doing it to the extent of rubbing himself enough to show skin, then he really needs to be checked for something underlying.
