Pretty ridiculous right? My 5 months old boy, luka cant eat sunflower seeds, how u may ask. He would only make a hole in it and then it falls from his beak to the cage floor. He cant even reach to the seed inside the shell, and no he doesn’t use his feet to eat. How can i help him?

I guess you could try holding the seed for him like I do when I give treats that are a little bit to hard for tiels. The love it, but when they bit one, it flies away or down to the floor! LOL! Thankfully I have two male tiels, Kiwi and his son Tiki that taught themselves HOW to hold on to a piece of food like a sun conure!

That’s what I do. But I have summer courses and I can’t stay all day in my home.

Crack the seeds for him or buy some already shelled for him. I did this for an adopted sparrow who can’t eat properly.
You dont get me. He eats perfectly fine. But he just can’t crack the shell. I think I got him when he just got weaned. I don’t think he got used to breaking shells as I got him when he was 2 months old. Is there a way I can help him to learn?
