Hello,
I have a deposit on a 5-6 week old baby and have visited him 4x in the week since I put the deposit down. Every time, he's done the baby head sway and beg for food scream with his mouth open the entire time I've held him (15-30 mins). He'll maybe stop for a few seconds and beep a little if another tiel contact calls but, otherwise, it's constant begging. He lets me pet him but that doesn't soothe the crying. Neither does singing. Whistling can get him to stop momentarily but it doesn't work always.
My other cockatiel-- who's three now, came from the same place, and was about the same age when I met him-- didn't do this. He was silent for a lot of our interactions or made beeps but only begged occasionally and not for very long.
Is the new baby's behavior normal? Could it be indicative of a health problem or that he's not being fed enough? Any tips on getting him to calm down?
