Hi, I have a new baby girl, a three-month old cinnamon tiel named Miranda.

Her owners allowed Miranda's parents to feed her, so she is not hand-fed. She lived with six other tiels, including her parents and her brother.

I brought her home six days ago, and she is still scared. In fact, she is so scared, she is shaking!! The poor thing! However, she is eating well.

What can I do to calm Miranda down? Gain her trust? Any ideas?

Shaking doesn't necessarily indicate fear. A scared cockatiel will flatten its feathers to its body and raise its crest as high as possible--is she doing this? If not, she may be shaking from cold or from excitement.

There are stickies in the training library that can help you with training.

Also try to keep the activity in the household to a minimum for a few days and spend some time just sitting with her and quietly talking or even reading to her.
