I went out with the intention to pick up a new breeding pair (or two) of pastelsilvers to add new blood into my flock. failed lol. instead I picked up this ugly duckling, now I call her an ugly duckling because of her beaten up tail and ONE clipped wing! but once all that's molted and replaced she will blossom into a beautiful "swan".. here she is in the travel cage before being moved into her quarantine cage
Oh and I'm heading back out tomorrow for the pairs

She's very cute; I hope to see her with her complete tail feathers :)

Congratulations for your new "baby"

Pretty girl. :)
Yes, they break their tail feathers very easily when they are young (before the first moult). Mine also broke his tail feathers all the time.
As for the clipping, some breeders like to clip only one wing, which looks a bit weird and can cause lack of balance, but they seem to prefer it. The breeder from whom I bought my boy also only clips one wing...
