Spike had some poop on his underside of his tail. I decided to towel him so I could clean him up. No way was he going to be toweled, he flew until he was extremley tired So I put him in his cage to rest. Ater 40 mins he seemed ok, so I decided to take him out again. He would not let me He was so angry at me That he would put his foot on my hand and than take it off, like wait I hate this person I think he is still mad at me but after 5mins he let me take him out So now I don't know what to do. If he won't let me towel him, how can I do his nails ect? I guess I will have to take him somewhere else now to get it done. I feel horrible

Don't let him get to you. Ziggy throws a fit when I'm trying to towel him *and he's pretty strong* just keep at it and don't let him "win". Sometimes we have to do things they don't like to care for them. An easier way might be to have him laying on your chest and giving him head scritches, then cleaning up what you need to clean up.
PS. I find that they almost over exagerate so don't take it personal.

I guess I did take it really personal :wacko: He was throwing these fits afterward, he was attacking his bell and you would think he was going to shred it to pieces He is calming down abit now. Hopefully by tommorow he will be back to normal. Iam still abit worried that I changed his personality somehow :blush: I may have to try that scritches trick if I need to towel him again. He was like a two year old having the worst tantrum ever

I'm too scared to towel Bailee because he works into such a fit that i think he'll have a heart attack.

Iam scared now too. Right now Spike is more bitey (if thats a word)

You said it perfectly its like a two year old having a fit, I towel all of mine when I have to and believe me they get over it, they don't like it but sometimes we have to do what we have to do, there all still alive and seem to still like me

Spike was panting with wings out, so I put him in the cage and he had a nap. It was scary. It did not help with my Mom say your going to give him a heart attack

Georgie did the same thing when I first got her, I thought the same thing she was literally panting so hard I thought she would keel over and 9 months later she is still here, its very scary for them at first but they do get use to it.

Spike can fly now, so it makes it alot harder. He is an amazing flyer though.

Georgie fly's to ...lol she always has, she is my only tiel that has never been clipped I just had to make sure I had a firm hold on her.

when stretch needed some dirt removed he put up a fight as well but i was determined and bye the next day he was so cuddly he forgot all about it

He seems to be even better now He was sitting on my sholder and he looked at me and said pretty boo He just sees the towel and will fly away I will have to figure out a way to trick him, I guess

i just wait till i have him then bring the towel out of hiding

Jaime what I do is get them to step up and with the other hand I bring the towel around the back it catches them of guard.

I may have to try that. Lets hope not to soon though. He still seems more nippy Although when I went to my brothers for a sleep over once, I got home and Spike was mad for three days I guess he has a good memory.

He'll get over it. Boys seem to always over do things...Ziggy hates being toweled two but some headscritches and he's over it.
