ive owned my cockatiel, Pear, for little over a year now. Im a part time student and a part time worker. he's about 1 and half years old. lately ive noticed him becoming more aggressive and territorial. trying to nest under my bed and bookshelves. Now ive blocked off all of his nest sites to keep him calm, but im worried that he's already become very hormonal. I give him as much attention as i can give and toys, but he's still being drawn to those spots. Ive done my best to keep mirrors away from him however he has grown attached to my microwave and coffeemaker.(my home is all one room, and a bath)
ive been bitten by him a lot and its just getting worse. today he flew straight for my face and bit my lip 2 times, with blood. I know he was raised with his parents and i believe he was also hand raised for a time. i want to know if this type of behavior can be fixed. i don't want to leave him locked in his cage but these outbursts have just become so stressful for the both of us.
i love him and he's a sweet bird. it breaks my heart because I want to give him the life he deserves.
