Hello members, hope you are all well. I have a cockatiel in the name of feyzo. Im sure its a he. He whistles and sings alot. I got him in November 2017 at about 6 weeks old. His a friendly bird. Loves my kids. And loves hanging out on thier sholder. Now in the last few months his been trying to attack me now and then. Sometimes his friendly and will come to me. But then as his on my shoulder he might try and attack my face or fingers? But he does not do this to my kids. If his in his cage. He might try qnd attack so i dont take him out. But a few hours later he wants to come out and be friendly? So its a on off sort of thing. I would of thought it could be hormonal or maybe its because his approaching adulthood? Some expert advice is greatly appreciated. I can take videos of his behavior and upload a youtube link.

Try 12-14 hours of sleep. It will take a couple of weeks to take effect. You can upload videos/pics if you like so we can have a better idea of his behaviour.

I have a male that acts like this too when he is hormonal. I make sure he has plenty of shreddable toys and natural branches to chew and keep himself busy but sometimes it's just a matter of waiting out the ramped up hormones until they return to normal.
