I currently have the brown ranch style cockatiel cage from Petco

A friend of mine is selling this Prevue
18" W x 18" D x 57" H (overall)
31-1/2" Interior height
5/8" Bar spacing

My baby is 4 months old and is very happy in his current home for now but just trying to look down the road a bit and thinking he may want more space later on....maybe even a friend at some point. I really could use some help deciding what to do:grey tiel:

That first photo is not of your cage is it? It has not toys.

This is the one I have for Skiddles - she loves it.

I don't know about the bar spacing on the one your friend is selling. From the picture they look quite wide.

No the ranch cage is Petco's picture. Cooper has a lot of toys and a hut that he sleeps on top of...that's one of the reasons why I was considering purchasing a larger cage. He loves to play with lots of toys all day long. He also has a play gym but he seems to like to play on me and what I'm doing more....he's such a nosey little boy! lol

I think Cooper would be VERY happy with an upgrade! The cage he has now is very small (I know Petco sells it as a cockatiel cage, but I wish they didn't).

However, the bigger cage is not big enough for two cockatiels if you are thinking of adding another down the line. I would consider a flight cage instead. For example:

I personally wouldn't get that white one, they usually don't use the lower half of them. I would choose one that is wider than that white one so they have more flight space and/or width to climb across. It will also give you more room to hang toys and things

I agree that wider is better than taller. If you're on a budget, try this cage! It's not big enough for two but it's not bad at all for one.

I agree with moonchild s advice.Personally,I would go with the Prevue- Hendry one,if the price is OK for you.I wish this cage would be on sale here in Brazil.It seems perfect for cockatiels x x

What an awesome play stand for your bird! Love that cage too, I had one sometime back but sold it. Didn't work for multiple birds unfortunately. I loved it though!

I made that play gym for her - its even better now with more stuff hanging off it.

Louey has made claim to it now though. LOL!
