Hello from Saint Louis, MO! I am looking at getting a mate for my girl Lucy and a friend of mine has the cockatiel pictured below. She says he is a male, but what I want to know is what mutation do you see? he has that typical yellow head, but a white body with an almost grey wash to it. Thoughts and ideas? Thanks!

Looks like a lutino. I can't verify the sex. I don't see much of a gray wash in that pic, but a gray wash either means cinnamon or pearl when we are talking about lutino males.

Looks lutino. Lutinos are prominently male so it's something to consider. Any idea what the bird's parents were?

All non-whiteface lutinos have a yellow face. Male lutinos do tend to be whiter in the body like this one though. If this bird is over a year old, just look under the wings in good light, if you see spots its a hen if not its a male. Photos can play tricks on us, looking for wing spots is the best way to be sure.
