I have a 3-month-old cockatiel. He's been having diarrhoea over the last 3 days and has been very weak. His left nostril was slightly red as well. I've been giving him metronidazole benzoate suspension -1 ml in water, 3 times a day. His poop has better consistency now and he seems to be slightly more active. He's been shivering on and off and sleeping. So far I think all this is from the diarrhoea but someone said it could be respiratory. All this started with an eye infection, I've been putting drops on the eye (ciprofloxacin and dexamethasone) and that has improved.

He is beak grinding and eating and hydrating consistently though. No gasping or panting, there was a minute or two where he opened his mouth slightly and his tongue was moving, but that was about it. No craning his neck or gasping.
This is all based on what the breeder told me to give him.
