I had a female Mexican red-legged tarantula named "Fuega" in the nature center for several years. She died this past week. What makes me feel even worse is that it was my fault. I accidentally dropped her as I was showing her to some guests. Falls are usually fatal to tarantulas, but she didn't die right away. I couldn't see any injury or any fluid, but she wasn't moving much at all. She lived for a week and a half. I wasn't sure if there was anything I could do as far as supportive care. but I kept her warm and tried to hydrate her by misting her. She actually seemed to be improving, but then she died.

Aww I'm sorry Jan. She looked like such a big girl. Hopefully she taught a lot of people about arachnids. And don't beat yourself up. Accidents do happen, and I'm sure she was comfortable when she passed
