Hello everybody,
I have a sweetheart called Olie, just over 2 months old. The last few days I noticed him eating less and being quiet. But as I know that birds are really sick once you start noticing things. I went to the aviary vet and his stool was fine. No bacteria or parasites. However, they found an upper respiratory bacterial infection. His medicine is antibiotic and as I never have administered medicine they showed me how. Now we got home and I put him on his perch. And he is not doing well. He is so quiet and he sits so still. I put him on my chest for a little extra warm touch. This afternoon he still ate, not much but a little.
I am very worried....was I too late? will he make it? when will the medicine start to work?
Maybe someone has advise?
