Just got my second cockatiel named chico and my current one Storm bit it why did it do that?, Chico is 4 weeks old and i think Storm is 4 months or older, Chico is an parent raised baby form an aviary but they said he/she would tame up nicely, Also how long will it take to tame this 4 week old aviary baby

Why do people sell babies that obviously need hand feeding? Are you sure the baby is 4 weeks old? How often are you hand feeding it?

Why didn't you quarantine the second bird? Never add a bird straight from a breeder to a cage that is already established with another bird. You need to do it gradually after quarantine. Move all the perches and toys even move the cage itself so the cage is new to both birds.

Uh oh... The breeder said there wasn't a problem putting them together but i did happen to have moved the cage around earlier to prevent boredom

Well now storm is singing to chico

Try putting their cages next to each other until they get used to each other and take them both out to a neutral spot like a play gym and let them get used to each other. After they can be trusted with each other you can introduce them to in cage time but keep bed time in separate cages for a few days, then they will be able to go in the same cage as soon as they stop bickering. It may take a few months or a few days or not happen at all, you won't know until you try, but just go slowly.

Mentha asked how are you feeding this 4week old baby?
Even parent raised aviary baby take at least 6weeks before they will eat own their own, and even then they may not be getting enough food?
The breeder should never let a bird go that young.

As your older Tiel has got used to it's cage, it is best to try and introduce them in another cage or out of the cages completely.
Another way you could think of it, it is like a stranger coming to sleep in your home with you. So yes not a good way to start.
And then the quarantine thing.
